Pylos is one of the most beautiful and popular coastal towns in the Peloponnese. Because it is located just an hour away from the town I grew up in (Kalamata), it was our most frequent Sunday family outing when I was a kid. The walk through the castle combined with the stories of the people who built it, used to excite our childhood imagination. The battlements, the cannons scattered around, the shattered walls from bombing, combined with the magnificent sea views through the castle, make visitors even today feel awe at the difficult living conditions of the people who inhabited it over the centuries. The tour can be started from any port of Peloponnese area.
