As a professional in the Adventure/Experiential Travel industry for 26 years, I've primarily guided small group tours for active adults - along with designing and organizing tours. From Ireland to Turkey, Italy to the Czech Republic, Morocco to the Highlands of Scotland, and pretty much every corner of Greece, I've been there - often more than once - and have personally escorted more than 2000 guests on one-of-a-kind adventures. The trips I've designed allow for authentic experiences involving rich cultural connections. We generally stay at small, elegant, family-owned hotels, employ expert local guides when necessary, sample traditional cuisines, and engage in active excursions, all within a framework of responsible tourism. Since 1998 when I started working for some of the leading companies in the active travel industry, I began understanding the idiosyncrasy of the North American traveler. My guests were my comrades, my companions, and we shared common goals: ensuring safety, enjoying leisure, gaining experiences, exceeding our limits and achieving a self-actualization that only travel can offer. I don't believe in leading the way, but rather paving the way to a breathtaking view or a memorable experience, allowing the guests to meet (or exceed) their expectations themselves. My hobbies include hiking, cycling, photography, caring for my olive groves and cooking for large groups of friends. Home base is also still one of my favorite destinations, the Southern Peloponnese. 26 years of experience designing and leading walking, cycling, van and yacht tours in Greece for English-speaking guests. Several former client referrals can be provided upon request. Certified in First Aid.

Immerse yourself in the natural beauty, culture and culinary traditions of the Mani Peninsula on a full-day tour that combines hiking along scenic trails and learning about the region’s cultural secrets and culinary treasures. Work up an appetite during the hike and enjoy multiple opportunities to discuss everything there is about the products, recipes, herbs, birds, flora and fauna, customs and traditions, and Mani’s fascinating past. Sample several of the local products during a picnic lunch and be rewarded for all your effort with afternoon coffee and sweets back in the village of Kardamyli. On warmer days, you might want to pass on the coffee and sweets and head straight to the beach for a refreshing swim. Take part in a olive oil presentation and tasting at the end of the day. Find out how you can extend this tour and enjoy a second full day's hike from Kardamyli to Kalamata. Ask your guide about his “Hiking from Kardamyli to Kalamata" add-on.
This is an intermediate-level loop hike that connects Kardamyli-Viros Gorge-Exochori-Agia Sofia and that is appropriate for anyone who is capable of walking at a steady pace for 5-6 hours taking frequent stops. The hike's distance is 11.4 km and the total altitude gain is 566 m. The terrain you will be traveling is varied – at different times you will be walking on uneven hiking trails, cobblestone paths with loose gravel, paved roads and the occasional overgrown (with vegetation) footpath. If you have any concerns about your physical ability to participate in and enjoy this adventure, it is much better to be proactive and ask now rather than be reactive and force the guide to problem-solve in the midst of the adventure. Culinary stop/olive-press visit (seasonal) Opportunities to forage foods (responsibly) (strictly seasonal). The tour ends back in Kardamyli. One/way or R/T transfers between Kalamata and Kardamyli (for those guests staying in Kalamata) can be arranged for an extra cost.
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.
