Overview of your Chios tour
Dear Wine Lovers, Hello from Chios! Let me introduce you to a new Wine destination located in the North West of my lovely island! On this tour we will go on a relaxed drive to Egrigoros, a village found 59 km from Chios town, where we'll visit Ariousios Winery. This winery has 2500 years of history, and produces Black Wine, one of the most famous of the island, which was even tasted by Homer, the author of the Odyssey & the Illiad. Here you'll enjoy a guided tasting of a variety of selected wines accompanied by local food specialties (greek tapas). Next stop is the medieval Volissos village where we have a short walk from the central square to Volissos castle with the amazing view of the aegean and the north west coast. **in between we will save time for a lunch at a local restaurant or a coastal taverna for the summertime** It wouldn't be fair to end the tour without passing by Agia Markella church, follow the martyr's path and relax at the picturesque beach! Ready to go?!
Your Chios tour itinerary
·The tour will begin with a pick-up from an agreed meeting point, possibly your lodging. ·We'll then go on an approximately hour and a half drive, including 10 min "technical" stop along the way. ·We'll then arrive to Egrigoros, the village where the Ariousios Winery is located at. ·What follows will be a guided tour of the winery, and a wine tasting with tapas. ·After the tasting, we drive to medieval Volissos village for a short walk and castle visit. - free time for lunch at a local taverna - Last stop is the Agia Markella beach for sightseeings and relax ·At last, you'll be dropped off at an agreed point. This itinerary can be customised depending on your preferences. **Please note that between June and October there is a very nice thermalism center where we could go to, upgrading your wellness experience in our tour (optional).
