It is ideal for walking around the scenic back alleys, hiking in its nature and swimming at its vast pebbly or sandy beaches, small bays and deep blue sea. Overview of your Chios tour
We'll drive to the south part of Chios, which is famous for the medieval or Mastic villages. Mastic, is a natural gum, that comes out as a resin from the Mastic tree. Known and used for thousands of years as a chewing gum , for cooking , as a medicine by ancient doctors such as Hippocrates. Used by doctors today, pharmacy companies, cosmetics and food. First stop its at "Didima"village. We'll tour to the village and after we'll drive up to a 2600 years old ancient olive tree. Second stop is at a pottery shop which makes its own products. Chios pottery is famous from the ancient years, because of its quality and designs. After we'll visit the mastic museum see and hear all about its cultivation. After we are going to hike up to the "Thief pirate port". There you can swim if you wish. After we'll visit the "Black pemple beach". There you can swim also. And after we'll visit the famous for its houses designs the "painted village"Pirgi". At "Pirgi "we can have launch. After we'll drive Back to the point we met
