My name is Dorothee and I will be your host here in beautiful Nice, France. I can say that I am the type of person who is active, and curious, who enjoys new projects. Born in Paris, I studied in Nice and I am an official trilingual tour guide since 2005. I am also a photographer, reporter, videomaker and casting director. I find everything creative very interesting, the same is the case with tourist guiding, it is something that is dynamic, always interesting and never the same. I like to connect with people and create cultural interactivity, share my experiences about the diversity of our culture, history and people. I created a non-profit organization to highlight and protect our heritage, I like to combine tourism and art and listen to what others have to say. As a tourist guide, besides Nice, I also worked in Paris, Spain, Italy, and Portugal I ve been a tourist guide teacher as well and I wrote 10 travel' guides about Peru and Argentina for the web : great advices, restaurants, history and itineraries, not to miss . . . illustrated with pictures. Welcome to the Cote d'Azur for a cultural, historical and walking tour in the heart of Old Nice to discover the best spots of Nice with a Jewish historical aspect. Come with me though the best places of the Old Town and enjoy a panoramic view at the Castle Hill. A nice program as the private visit of the Grand Synagogue (rarely opened), the Place Massena, the Flower Market, the narrow streets with the the old Jewish street, the areas of the medieval Jewish ghetto, the old Synagogue, the famous Promenade des Anglais and the Jewish cemetery at the Castle Hill. The walls tell stories and I would be happy to share them with you !

- We will start at Place Massena for a short historical presentation of Nice. - a private visit of he Modern Synagogue (rarely opened) from 1886 by Paul Martin - the Place Massena - the Flower Market - the famous Promenade des Anglais - the Jewish cemetery at the Castle Hill with the tombs of Alfred Van Cleef (the jewelry Van Clef), René Goscinny, the creator of Axterix and the architect Aaron Messiah who built the Villa Massena. - the narrow streets with the old Jewish ghetto from the 15th until 1791 and from 1828 to 1848. - The narrow streets of the old town : the Jewish were hidden into the caves during the WW2 until 1943, before the Germans arrived. - the old synagogue from 1733 (number 18) by Anselme Spinelli * For customizing this tour, please inquire for a quote We will end at tve synagogue next to pLace Massena
