Hello dear visitor and welcome to Nice and the French Riviera! My name is Yvonne and I am a Munich-born German. I always loved French culture and traditions and I studied them before deciding to move abroad 28 years ago. First to Turkey on the Aegean Coast for a short stay, and then to France on the French Riviera, where I worked at Nice International Airport in the ground handling department and where I had to deal with many guests and cultures. I really liked this human dimension and I always wanted to help travellers enjoy their stay in the region by giving them local tips and advice. Knowing that, I decided to change my professional direction and went back to study Art (especially 19th-century art) and Architecture at the University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis to become a licensed tour guide, leading in German, French and English. Moving to the French Riviera, I immediately fell in love with this region, with its golden light, the bold colours of its vegetation and picturesque villages filled with history and art; my favourite are Cannes, Antibes, Aix-en-Provence, Monaco and Saint-Paul de Vence, where I have been guiding for the last few years, always trying to create tailor-made itineraries off the beaten path with unique details and interesting anecdotes. My job is my true passion and I love to share it with my guests and to rediscover all these magnificent sites through their eyes again every single day. Overview of your Nice tour
Visit the charming fishing village Villefranche which is one of the most well protected and picturesque ports on the Riviera. Enjoy the multicoloured houses clinging to the flanks of the mountain and its bay. Walk on stepped passageways, winding secret streets descending to the sea and stop in the "Rue Obscure" (Dark street) of the 13th century. Admire the 16th century citadel or St. Peter's chapel decorated by Jean Cocteau. Eze-Village, perched on the edge of a rock is a so-called Eagel's nest. Narrow, sloping and cobbled streets giving the village a very picturesque appearance. La Turbie is built on a ridge and overlooks the Principality of Monaco and its mountainous coastline. Looking towards Italie, the Esterel and the Maures mountain chain, you can admire one of the most beautiful views on the Riviera. This village is also famous for its celebrated "Trophée d'Auguste" or Alpine Trophy erected by the Romans to honour Caesar's nephew Augustus and his conquests in this region.

Yvonne was an excellent guide -- informative, flexible, and a good English speaker. We enjoyed the tours of Villefranche and Eze, and were delighted when she offered to include a quick visit to the casino in Monaco, and managed to squeeze it into the itinerary by shortening the drop-in at La Turbie.
