I was born and grew up in Addis Ababa - where I completed my junior education. I studied Accounting and was graduated in Diploma from Mekelle University. I didn't, luckily, like my job for 7 months as an Accountant till I decided something social. Then, I studied Tour Operation and Travel Management at the Catering and Tourism Training Institute for two years and graduated in Diploma in 2004 with 'Distinctions' ranking. I worked as a permanent tour operator/guide for the next five years at two of the best known tour companies in Addis Ababa. From August 2009 on, I've been enjoying organizing city tours in Addis Ababa, day tours around Addis Ababa, and longer day private tours to the historical sites of Northern Ethiopia, and the cultural and natural sites of the Omo Valley of Southern Ethiopia. My best quality, I believe, is customizing private tours in Addis Ababa, and longer days tours in Ethiopia. In addition to living in Addis, and professional knowledge and years of experience I got, I am passionate for guiding. Tour guiding is not only my way of earning money, it is a passion I live for. This is a wonderful tour to take where you will see stunning landscapes and have the opportunity to enter one of the Ethiopian Orthodox’s most important holy buildings. Be prepared for a very long bumpy journey, but in a comfortable vehicle, and a lot of walking over rough terrain at the gorge. You will be well rewarded with spectacular photographs. It is an adventure: go for it !
We did a day tour with Mulaken to Debre Libanos, the Portuguese bridge, the large monastery and a small local village. Muluken was very knowledgeable and accommodating. He provided us with water and coffee and offered to take us to a local restaurant for food. He was great at communicating with us through What’s App and Tours By Locals. He met us at the airport at dropped us off at the hotel. He drove a large passenger van that was comfortable. We would recommend him as a tour guide.

The tour was excellent! The monastery has beautiful stained glass windows and the gorge view is amazing. If you have just been to Addis Ababa so far, it is also very interesting to see the Ethiopia's countryside. The guide Muluken is knowledgeable, helpful and easy going. I definitely recommend him for your tours.
My 2nd tour with Muluken, 2.5 years apart, and great again. He is very professional, friendly & knowledgeable. We started the tour late because I was delayed at the customs office trying to retrieve a package. He waited for us for more than 1 hour without complaining and arrived with a smile on his face when we were ready. He provided the same great tour as if we had started on time. He's a great tour guide.
One of my favorite sights in the region. The Monastery is amazing and Muluken knows exactly where to find the Gelada baboons! The place he took me for lunch here (I believe called Bakarat) was also one of the best meals of my life!!
