Teddy was the ultimate host and guide! Passionate and knowledgeable about both his county and city he brought the rich history of both alive for me. Whether it was a delicious lunch in a backstreet cafe, amazing roadside coffee, a history lesson on top the hill overlooking the city or learning more about the multiple tribes through their individual dance styles it was all fun. Easy going, fun and intelligent I recommend Teddy highly.
A fascinating walking/driving tour by a knowledgeable local citizen who showed us the REAL Addis. A visit to a typical breakfast venue frequented by locals gave us the opportunity of sampling a traditional Ethiopian breakfast. A subsequent visit to a local residence provided a meal prepared by the lady of the house, which once again made a great impact on us - much more than a "glitzy" commercial tour could ever accomplish. I can't recommend enough. Teddy was an amazing guide, customizing the tour to fit the time I had and my interests. He came to pick me up with his car, despite being in an accident the day before (the car was fully functional, no worries) and took me around the city, sampling delicious local dishes and seeing the sights. Throughout the tour, we had amazing discussions about Ethiopia, Africa and the world, and I learned so much beyond just the stops we made. Thanks again!
We had a terrific tour. Teddy showed us as much of Addis as possible during our layover. He designed a tour specific to our timing and interests. Every place we visited was fascinating; everything we ate and drank was delicious. Teddy is smart, personable, kind, very knowledgeable, very responsive, curious about the world, justly proud of Ethiopia, and eager to share his knowledge and thoughts with curious visitors. We'd recommend him without hesitation, and will gladly see him again on a future visit.
Tewodros was an amazing guide who gave us an introduction, not only to authentic Ethiopian food, but also to its culture, landmarks and rich history. He was extremely knowledgeable and fun to be around. At the first restaurant we had injera with vegetables and yes, we did eat it Ethiopian style with our hands. We then went to Mt. Entoto with views of the city where we had delicious honey wine. We finally went to a butcher and tried raw meat with spices followed by cook meat. It was a great experience.
Teddy was a fantastic tour guide, we had a tremendous experience visiting the popular local food, as well as a few stunning viewpoints of Addis. Highly recommend visiting Addis with Teddy as he is speaks excellent english, and is knowledgeable about the history and culture of Ethiopia.
