I am Haile, a professional tourist guide who works with both inbound and outbound tourism in a variety of destinations and settings. I hold a tourist guiding license from the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Ministry of Culture and Tourism, which allows me to conduct tours throughout the country. I have worked as an independent tour guide across Ethiopia’s tourist destinations and have extensive knowledge of the country’s history, culture, and nature. I have successfully led and managed groups of tourists throughout Ethiopia, conducting tours for both groups and individuals. I offer a variety of tour packages, including historical tours, cultural tours, nature tours, bird-watching tours, trekking tours, documentary film tours, archaeological tours, coffee tours, road and mountain biking, rafting, and Ethiopian cuisine tours. I worked as a tour operator and tour guide for two of the most competitive tour companies in Addis Ababa until August 2011. Since then, I have been working as a freelance English-speaking guide for various tour companies in Addis Ababa. I am passionate about travel, and my goal is to promote tourism as a whole while contributing to the growth and development of tourism in Ethiopia in particular.

Welcome to ADDIS ABABA! Addis Ababa is on of world’s highest capital city at 2,865 meters above sea level. It’s a city that has worn its heart on its cover since it was founded by Ethiopian Emperor Menelik II in 1892. Boasting a cityscape that changes almost daily, with wobbly wooden scaffolding creeping slowly skyward, Addis Ababa has more than enough history and culture sights to warrant more than just a stopover. In this city tour, you will visit Holy Trinity Cathedral, Arat Kilo Patriots Monument, National Museum of Ethiopia, Abune Petros Statue, Menelik II Square, St. George Cathedral, Shiro Meda Market, Mount Entoto, ...
- Holy Trinity Cathedral - the cathedral, the second-most important place of worship in Ethiopia. - Arat Kilo Patriots Monument - a Monument, a tribute to Ethiopian patriots who fought against Italian occupation. - National Museum of Ethiopia - Explore the museum’s rich collection, including the famous fossilized remains of Lucy, royal artifacts, and Ethiopian art. - Lunch at Taitu Hotel - Enjoy traditional Ethiopian cuisine at the historic and the First hotel in Ethiopia. - Abune Petros Statue - Visit the statue of Abune Petros, an archbishop who supported Ethiopian patriots during the Italian invasion. - Menelik II Square - the square, home to the equestrian statue of Emperor Menelik II, commemorating the Battle of Adwa. - St. George Cathedral - Visit St. George’s Cathedral, built to celebrate Ethiopia’s victory at Adwa. - Shiro Meda Market - Shop for traditional Ethiopian textiles, scarves, and souvenirs. - Mount Entoto - offering panoramic views of Addis Ababa.
