Luxor, the most essential part of any Egyptian itinerary

Our tour guide Ahmed made our time in Luxor very interesting and meaningful. He has deep knowledge of the ancient Egyptian culture and history, and provided great insight into the customs, religion and actions of this civilization. On a personal level, Ahmed is friendly and open, and quite funny. He related well to all members of our family, ranging in ages from 11 to 75! He monitored us carefully and adapted his tour to our interest and energy, always asking and then offering lots of interesting information. Ahmed took us to a local Restuarant for a delicious Egyptian lunch, and to a tiny shop that makes “The best fallafals in all of Egypt!” After sampling them in other places, we totally agree. We appreciate his time, sincere interest and knowledge, and rate Ahmed a 12 on a 1 to 10 scale! We left Egypt having met a wonderful person, and now found a new friend.

Our family had an exceptional two-day experience with Ahmed in Luxor, starting with a warm airport pickup. He was attentive to our needs and ensured we had a memorable time, being flexible throughout our trip. On the first day, we enjoyed a traditional Egyptian breakfast before exploring significant sites such as Karnak Temple, the Valley of the Kings, and the Temple of Hatshepsut. The following day included visits to the Tomb of Ramose, the Temple of Ramses III, the worker’s city, the Colossi of Memnon, and Luxor Temple. Ahmed’s knowledge of the history behind each site was impressive; he explained everything clearly and was patient in repeating details when necessary. He also took us to local shops for authentic souvenirs and arranged a delightful dinner on the Nile River to conclude our adventure.

If you are looking for an off beaten path that makes you feel like family or best friends, then ask for Ahmed! We wanted our trip to Luxor to feel like we were visiting a big city in our own country, and he and Afif (his driver) did just that. Not only did Ahmed sit down with us and make a custom itinerary based off of what we told him we wanted to see, but he made us feel as if we were long lost friends coming back home. He is intelligent and able to make things easily understandable. Go with Ahmed!

Ahmed and his two drivers were amazing! He is extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of Egypt. He is warm, very friendly, accommodating and very flexible. He took us all over Luxor and Cairo including local restaurants and coffee shops. We felt safe the entire time.
