I am an English speaking tour guide. I was born and raised in Luxor, Egypt and I am passionate about sharing my home town with visitors. I work primarily in Luxor and Upper Egypt, but I also travel throughout Egypt. I believe that the best sites in Egypt are right here in Luxor, and love to share the history and culture of my country. Discover the oldest and most ancient Egyptian site in all of Egypt and greatest open air museum in all the world. Since I was child I lived close to Luxor temple and used to come to see our great monuments and to discover by myself how they managed to built or carve more than a thousand reliefs on it and why! The river Nile divided Luxor (Thebes) to east and west bank where they used to see there sun god rise from Karnak temple to die at the west bank where they dig tombs and built funerary temples to follow their god's journey into the afterlife. Today I realized the magnificence and the beauty of my city and I would like to show you my city with the eyes of a child. . .
We had a wonderful experience with George as the tour guide for our Luxor day trip. His passion for Egyptian history and his ability to explain it in simple terms made a huge difference for our trip. George was punctual, courteous and well organized with his time. During our visits to the Valley of Kings, Karnak temple and Luxor temple, George shared some nuanced details which can be easily missed by less experienced tours guides. We highly recommend him as a tour guide.
George is a great, knowledgeable guide. The tour of Dandara temple was extremely well organized, with rich and colourful explanation of all details about the site and ancient Egyptian traditions. The minivan was very comfortable and clean, and the trip to Soma Bay after the visit to Dandara was very smooth, with a nice lunch in a desert coffee shop on the road to the Red Sea. Highly recommended!
George was an excellent tour guide! He was very knowledgeable about the history of Luxor and especially interpreting the writings on the ancient buildings and temples he took us to. He also gave us great recommendations about how to best enjoy the city after our tour. Very highly recommended!
If you are looking to discover Luxor, I highly recommend you do so with George! I was able to visit everything in my Wishlist and more. George is very knowledgeable and lets you explore at your own pace while providing all the history and insights. George spent time explaining all the details of the places we visited and help ensure it was smooth from the beginning to the end. 5/5 stars! When I return to Egypt I will rebook with George!
We had the best time ever in Luxor with George! We booked a one day tour starting from LXR airport. Prior to the tour he reached out and made sure we had his contact details to keep him updated on when and how we were arriving. He picked us up at the airport and we rode in a very comfortable car. He is very friendly and accommodating. We went to each one of the tour locations and he explained to us before hand what we were going to see. He provided all historical details and showed us all important items at the locations. After each visit he checked if we had any doubt. We had a very good typical lunch and then continue on the afternoon leg of the tour. Finally he dropped us at the airport and now I can tell you I have a friend in Luxor. Thanks for your service George! 5 Stars!
George was an awesome guide! We had a balloon ride that was canceled due to weather, and George made sure to keep us updated and proactively made sure to contact the company for our refund. Even without the ride, we still had an awesome day. He was very knowledgeable and also found us an AMAZING local lunch spot. He was also great with time (we were leaving to catch a flight) without making us feel like we were being rushed. We would definitely book again!
- We start our tour by picking you up from Luxor airport. - Then we drive from the east bank of Luxor to the west bank to visit first the Kings Valley where you can see only 3 public tombs per ticket - After that we will go to visit the mortuary (funerary) temple of Queen Hatshepsut. - We will end our tour on the west bank by visiting the famous colossi of Memnon. - We drive back to the east bank to visit Karnak and Luxor temples. - Finally, I will drop you off at luxor airport.
