Hi! Welcome to Ecuador — a mega-diverse, multicultural and endlessly fascinating country. Let me introduce you to Guayaquil, the vibrant coastal city known as the gateway to Ecuador’s natural and cultural wonders. My name is Javeth. I’m a certified national tour guide by the Ministry of Tourism of Ecuador, and I’ve been working as a guide for over 8 years. I specialize in urban tourism, focusing on history and culture — but I also love sharing our rich gastronomy and nearby natural landscapes. What drives me in this profession is the chance to be not just a guide, but a cultural ambassador for my country. Every week, I get to meet new people from all over the world, exchange ideas and connect across languages and traditions. That’s what makes each tour special. I’m fluent in English (certified B2 level), and I believe that a tour should feel like exploring a city with a knowledgeable local friend — relaxed, insightful and memorable. Whether you're into history, food, culture, or nature, I’m here to help you experience the real Ecuador, one story at a time. More than a guide — I want to be a friend along your journey.

On this tour, I'll contextualize you on the fascinating history of the pirate attacks, the main causes and consequences of the marauding at the South Pacific coast and of course, the invasions that Guayaquil suffered during its colonial period. I'll also let you know how the city defended itself, for instance taking you to see the replica of a Spanish military fortress that stood against the pirate's attempts to loot the city. Here, I'll explain much of the pirate terminology, their laws & their ranks. We'll visit a museum and former fort as well, where I'll recount the attacks the city suffered. This museum happens to be in a hill that offers panoramic views, so it's also a great photo opportunity. However, a pirate tour wouldn't feel complete unless we actually visited a pirate ship where you can have a true firsthand experience of everything discussed... so what about walking on Captain Morgan's galleon?
-We'll start with this tour once I pick you up from your lodging, airport or any previously agreed upon spot. -Then our first stop will be at the Fortín de la Planchada. -From there, we'll climb the steps of the Diego Noboa escalinatas up the Santa Ana Hill. -We'll then reach the Naval Museum (former fort). -Afterwards, we'll visit the Santa Ana chapel atop the hill. -After contemplating the scenery and the picturesque lighthouse, we'll we'll take a walk on a replica of the iconic Captain Morgan galleon. -At last, I'll drop you off at an agreed on spot.

We would use a Hyundai H1 or similar, with comfortable seats, air conditioner and private hired driver, for pick up and drop off.
