Hi! Welcome to Ecuador — a mega-diverse, multicultural and endlessly fascinating country. Let me introduce you to Guayaquil, the vibrant coastal city known as the gateway to Ecuador’s natural and cultural wonders. My name is Javeth. I’m a certified national tour guide by the Ministry of Tourism of Ecuador, and I’ve been working as a guide for over 8 years. I specialize in urban tourism, focusing on history and culture — but I also love sharing our rich gastronomy and nearby natural landscapes. What drives me in this profession is the chance to be not just a guide, but a cultural ambassador for my country. Every week, I get to meet new people from all over the world, exchange ideas and connect across languages and traditions. That’s what makes each tour special. I’m fluent in English (certified B2 level), and I believe that a tour should feel like exploring a city with a knowledgeable local friend — relaxed, insightful and memorable. Whether you're into history, food, culture, or nature, I’m here to help you experience the real Ecuador, one story at a time. More than a guide — I want to be a friend along your journey.

On this tour, I'll make you fall in love with Guayaquil and its surroundings, by visiting its squares & monuments, as well as walking along the banks of the majestic Guayas River. We'll go on a panoramic tour of some of Guayaquil's most iconic areas, all while travelling back in time through a city full of fascinating stories, such as that of the history of cacao. Was Guayaquil the cradle of the 20th-century chocolate trade? How did a small port manage to free itself from the Spanish colonial empire? Was the start of the current political division of South America forged here? What did Guayaquil have to do with Alexander Humboldt, Gustave Eiffel or Captain Morgan? You'll discover all of this, and more, with me. I'm passionate about urban tourism, and I'm convinced that before enjoying Ecuador's natural charms, like the Galapagos Islands, you should first visit its largest city, the pillar of today's society. So join me on this exciting tour and discover the magic of Guayaquil, "The Pearl of the Pacific".

We would use a Hyundai H1 or similar, with comfortable seats, air conditioner and private hired driver.
