Passionate, enthusiastic, flexible, sympathetic, concise, humorous, friendly - are words that have been used to describe me - this means I am the ideal person to share this beautiful city of Prague with and ensure you get the maximum benefit and enjoyment from your stay right from the start! I am not a local guide working each day on the same itinerary with details of many dates and events and leading groups with a flag from A to B and possibly a microphone! Worked in travel and tours business for 30 years and started my own Swiss company specialising in unique and client orientated programmes and itineraries. Have led and guided groups all over the world and have a special interest in the major European cities. I am from the UK but have lived and worked in Switzerland, London and now Prague. As your private guide, I love to share my enthusiasm, local knowledge and experience by not only showing fellow travellers my present city of residence but also getting to know them, what they like and why they are here. This gives me a chance to make each private tour unique and different and in tune with the clients interests and wishes. My knowledge of art and architecture proves very useful when walking around the historic magical city of Prague even if it is not a specialist Art Nouveau, Czech art or architecture tour as such! I always believe in mixing historical/cultural info with practical advice and local tips on where to eat, take a coffee in a unique setting or change money. This also prevents boredom setting in and gives the visitor a feeling of confidence and a great orientation allowing them to go back to museums or cafes they passed and find their way about like a local. That is why my ORIENTATION style flexible tours prove so popular as they meet the needs of the discerning traveler who cannot always find this with a standard local guide. Meeting a local tour guide/leader should also be a pleasant social experience for both parties. To that end I like to include some time for a coffee or local beer during the tour as this not only gives me a chance to get to know YOU and your interests and aspirations but also to share a great WORLD HERITAGE map of the city with you and explain where we have been or are going! As the honoured guest(s) in this magical city all depends on you and your needs, interests and what you hope to benefit from after the tour. I am here to help you get the maximum out of your time with me. Also available to give evening tours of cafes, bars, clubs etc. or accompany you for dinner at a place to suit your budget and tastes! Owned and managed my own group tours business in Suisse. Designed special tours and itineraries in most major Euro cities for groups as well as bookings, guiding and organising specialist tours. Have a BA/PGCE in Art & Architecture. As exam is in Czech I never got a local guide license! Walking tours use local trams if necessary but car/bus can be booked where needed for Czech tours.

A great 1st day introduction to the city of spires and red roofs that offers the tired disorientated traveler just the start they need! Even if you are good at map reading and uncovering the city, this tour will save you time and energy by giving you a great overview of not only the historical and cultural background but also something we all need on arrival in a new city - local tips, practical info and how to avoid problems or scams! You will be left with a good idea of what you want to visit on your own - maybe a cafe, church, museum or shop! My unbridled enthusiasm for this magical city will leave you feeling confident and excited - and impatient to experience new pleasures, tastes and knowledge in this wonderfully preserved central European city. Sites and wonders to note, explain and share on every corner! There is something visually captivating at every turn in this compact old town. The Tourist mile is only crossed when essential! I enjoy sharing my enthusiasm, interests and knowledge with you.
The exact order and itinerary also depends on the clients and their preferences and needs so each walking tour is a little different. After all variety is the spice of life and stops both parties from getting stale or bored! A typical itinerary example: *Start in the Old Town Square with an appreciation of the variety of architecture and a quick stop at the major landmarks *Quick look inside St. Nicholas and Tyn Churches *walk down Pariska and see the Jewish area and many amazing Art-Nouveau apartment buildings *Explore the unique Cubist building and cafe and see inside the Municipal House, the finest example of Art Nouveau *Interesting coffee break in the Paris Hotel or Cubist Cafe *On to the Estates Theatre and see Wenceslas Sq, and the main parts of the New Town. If time permits we can also see Jan Hus Chapel and the Clementinum and start of Charles Bridge. Shortcuts taken along many hidden arcades. As a last surprise we enjoy the best examples of Bohemian Crystal displayed in a historic building
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.
Walking tour but can also use trams if needed.
Prague, Prague, Czechia
At your hotel or ByGuide: 21 Old Town Square at STARBUCKS Cafe opposite the tower and Astronomical clock on the corner - not the other one in dark blue building under the arches!
