Daytrip to Terezín and Úštěk

I will be honoured to share with you my knowledge of holocaust as I strongly believe places as Terezín must be visited so the history was never forgotten. Terezín was built in the 18th century as a fortress to defend the Northern borders of the country. It paradoxically became infamous first of all as a prison, and later during World War II. as a Jewish ghetto and concentration camp. During this visit, you will learn about Terezín town and its history and as a bonus will visit the hidden gem in Bohemian uplands - Úštěk which used to have a significant Jewish community since middle ages. There is a beautifully preserved synagogue with an old Jewish school that is quite unique and typical of some of the synagogues in Bohemia. As another option, we can visit also the Jewish cemetery in Úštěk or small family glasswork. I highly recommend this trip for people who wish to learn more about the Czech holocaust and also love to travel out of a regular tourist path to get to know unusual hidden gems.
