Prague Jewish town and Terezin Full Day Tour

This is a full day combination of Prague Jewish Museum and trip to former concentration camp and ghetto of Terezin. Do you know Prague is often called the "Jerusalem of the West"? And even though a very limited percentage of the original buildings has been preserved till these days, the collection of items in the Jewish Museum, as well as visit of the Old Jewish Cemetery and the Old New Synagogue, are true highlights of a visit to Prague. Let a local guide you through this place. . . The second part of this tour is trip to infamous place of Terezin, which was originally built as a military fortress by the Emperor Joseph II. , and named after his mother Empress Maria Theresa as "the city of Theresia". Do you know during WW II, this city was converted into a Jewish Ghetto, where Jews from all over the continent were transported? The so called Small Fortress was used as a prison for Nazi secret police prisoners.

I will pick you up in the morning in your hotel, and we will walk to the area of the former Jewish Quarter, where we will visit the Old Jewish Cemetery and Jewish Museum which is located in the former Synagogues. Together we will visit the *Pinkas, *Maisel * Spanish and the Old New Synagogue. We will visit the Old Jewish cemetery, and walk past the thumb of Rabi Löw, and we will visit the oldest still active Synagogue in Europe - the Old New Synagogue. After a short refreshment break we will meet our car with driver and continue for about hour out of the city to explore the former concentration camp in Terezin. We will visit both the small fortress used once as a gestapo prison, as well as the former Jewish ghetto.
