"Bon biní" to Curaçao! That means "welcome" to Curaçao in our local language, Papiamentu. I'm Elton, a local island-boy born and raised in Curaçao who would be more than glad to show you around his island. As an avid traveller who has visited about 80 countries so far (probably your country too), my love and appreciation for Curaçao only kept on growing as I travelled more and more. Meeting people from across the globe with different backgrounds and cultures is one of the things I enjoy the most. I consider myself pretty knowledgeable when it comes to the island. It would be an honour to share all this love and appreciation with you and also teach you some Papiamentu if you're interested! Feel free to request eventual customized activities so I can arrange it all. Send me a message, even when it shows that I'm unavailable!! ATTENTION: - In case you or someone on your party has mobility issues (difficulties walking), I'd recommend sending me a message first instead of immediately booking so we can discuss and see whether it would be possible to do the tour. - Prices are for tours starting in Willemstad only; hotels in the Jan Thiel area and also Sandals Royal are not Willemstad. An extra fee will be added to cover the further distance for the pick-up and drop-off. If staying in the western side of the island and the tour occurs there, there will be no extra fee. We did the Curacao Jewish History tour with Elton. We was a wonderful guide, and a wealth of knowledge. We went to two cemeteries where he taught us about the tombstones and their histories. We went to the orthodox synagogue, and although we only saw the outside, he contacted the rabbi beforehand. We went to the sand floor synagogue and museum, the Blue Curacao factory and drove through the neighborhood of lavish buildings, learning of their origin. By far safe, amazing tour with Elton, exceeded our expectations!

- Beth Haim Bleinheim Jewish cemetery, 17th century (only opened from Sun-Fri 9:00-17:00) - Chobolobo, Curacao Liqueur Distillery (Jewish owned, only opened Mon-Fri. 9am-5pm, also weekends if there is a cruise-ship, 9am-2pm) - Beth Haim Berg Altena Jewish cemetery, 19th century (only opened Sun-Fri 9am-5pm) - Drive through Scharloo, Jewish neighborhood - Mikve Israel Emanuel Synagogue (Sephardic) & Jewish Cultural Historical Museum, 1732. (opened on Mon-Fri) - *Optional: Shaarei Tsedek Synagogue, Ashkenazi (entry to synagogue only if possible with the rabbi) - *Optional: Mongui Maduro Museum & Library (open Mon-Fri., 9am-2pm) * Duration is typically about 4.5 hours, depending how much time you spend at each stop. * Please bring a hat or cap if necessary, as there is no shade in the cemeteries! * Do not hesitate to contact me for a customized experience NOTE: You MUST have a valid photo-ID with you to enter Mikve Israel Emanuel Synagogue. A ship-card is not enough!
