"Bon biní" to Curaçao! That means "welcome" to Curaçao in our local language, Papiamentu. I'm Elton, a local island-boy born and raised in Curaçao who would be more than glad to show you around his island. As an avid traveller who has visited about 80 countries so far (probably your country too), my love and appreciation for Curaçao only kept on growing as I travelled more and more. Meeting people from across the globe with different backgrounds and cultures is one of the things I enjoy the most. I consider myself pretty knowledgeable when it comes to the island. It would be an honour to share all this love and appreciation with you and also teach you some Papiamentu if you're interested! ATTENTION: - In case you or someone on your party has mobility issues (difficulties walking), I'd recommend sending me a message first instead of immediately booking so we can discuss and see whether it would be possible to do the tour. - Prices are for tours starting in Willemstad only; hotels in the Jan Thiel area and also Sandals Royal are not Willemstad. An extra fee will be added to cover the further distance for the pick-up and drop-off. If staying in the western side of the island and the tour occurs there, there will be no extra fee. Did you know that enslaved Africans actually discovered caves they hid in? You'll get a guided tour at the Hato Caves that were formed more than 300. 000 years ago. We will also stop at the Curaçao Liqueur Distillery. You must have heard about "Blue Curaçao", haven't you? This is where the famous and genuine "Blue" liqueur is made! Get to know a little bit more of Willemstad's history when we visit a small fort with views over the city (and probably your ship too!). We will go and spot some flamingos before ending up at a beautiful beach to relax, have something to eat or snorkel if you want. At Porto Marie Beach there are often tame pigs roaming around. There is always the possibility to visit different beach instead (Daaibooi for example), that is not a problem! Please note that I cannot guarantee that there will always be flamingos to be seen during the tour. So far every time I have been there, there were flamingos but the quantity varies. Same goes for the pigs on the beach at Porto Marie.
I'd give Elton a 6 star if it was available. He had such a deep knowledge, English was great so there were no communication problems. We opted to modify the tour to see some more things downtown and delete the beach. He was very flexible. Had him pick an authentic local food restaurant for lunch. It was great. Very enjoyable, interesting, and wonderful.
Elton was a pleasure to have as our guide while visiting Curaçao. Our 5 hour island tour covered all the bases with the emphasis on sites in nature which is our preference. It’s obvious he enjoys people, his country and travel. All in all, a wonderful experience.
We had an amazing tour in Curaçao and can’t recommend it enough. The caves were stunning and unforgettable, and the snorkeling was incredible—we saw turtles up close and even spotted a snake-eel. The other stops were lovely and made the day feel well-rounded without being rushed. Our guide, Elton, was the best part: friendly, knowledgeable, and a great driver who made everything smooth and stress-free. If you’re looking for a fun mix of adventure and island highlights, book this tour—especially with Elton!

This was a wonderful tour and we are so glad we booked it. Our guide Elton S was so knowledgeable and made the tour fun. Once we met up with Elton it was a day of sightseeing and learning all about Curaçao. He took us to all of the touristy places and some that he recommended for us after getting to know us a bit better. We highly recommend booking with Tours by Locals and if going to Curaçao ask for Elton S.
