Explore Willemstad your way

At ToursByLocals, we believe that how you explore is just as important as where you go. That’s why every Willemstad tour is private, flexible, and built around you: Move at your own pace, skip the crowds, make connections and follow your curiosity. Find local guides offering private tours in Willemstad for every interest, including:

Nature and Wildlife tours: Track flamingos at the Jan Kok salt pans, then snorkel with sea turtles at Playa Piskado before a swim over the double reef at Playa Porto Mari. Your guide can also time Shete Boka Park for dramatic wave crashes and a quiet hike in Christoffel National Park to spot orchids and coastal birds.

Family tours: Cross the Queen Emma floating bridge together, hunt for colourful murals in the Scharloo neighbourhood, and try warm pastechi from a favourite local bakery. Add hands-on marine fun at the Curaçao Sea Aquarium to watch a dolphin training session, then enjoy easy, shallow-water beach time at Mambo Beach.

Getting around: The historic centre around Punda and Otrobanda is walkable, and minibuses run limited routes, but reaching parks and beaches is easier by car. You can book chauffeured tours or tours with private transportation, or ask your local guide to arrange pickups.

This isn’t a one-size-fits-all itinerary, you can tailor your private tour to match your interests, pace and personality with a local who knows Willemstad inside and out.

Day trip ideas from Willemstad

Base yourself in Willemstad, then branch out to beaches, parks, and small towns across the island; short drives and boat rides make day trips simple, and your tour can zero in on snorkelling, hiking, or easy beach time.

- Westpunt and Playa Piskado/Playa Knip: clear water, sea turtles near the pier, and wide sand give you a swim-first day, with cliffside lookouts and a quiet village vibe that’s great for sunset photos.

- Christoffel National Park: an early start gets you cooler temps for the summit trail, plus shaded routes, native plants, and old plantation sites for a mix of nature and history in one loop.

- Shete Boka National Park: wave-battered coves, blowholes, and short coastal walks deliver dramatic views, which suits photographers and anyone who likes rugged shorelines more than long beach hours.

- Klein Curaçao: a full-day boat ride to a low, white-sand island with easy snorkelling, a simple lighthouse, and a shallow reef, ideal when you want a no-rush beach day far from traffic.

- Caracas Bay and Tugboat Beach: calm water for first-time snorkellers, a photogenic tugboat wreck close to shore, and a short walk up to Fort Beekenburg for island views, all within a quick drive of town.

A private tour with a local guide is the best way to really get to know a place. Skip the crowds, follow your interests, and see a side of Willemstad most travellers miss.
