I am an early childhood teacher who started teaching English and Spanish since 2019, and I teach adults and children virtually all over the world. I love to travel and I have had the opportunity to live in Brazil for a year, which taught me that the best places in the city are only known by locals. Upon returning to my country and starting to work mainly with foreigners teaching Spanish, I discovered my taste for showing my city, teaching our history and rediscovering places every time I visit them with someone new. It is always interesting to hear the experiences of people from all over the world and what they think of the place where I was born and raised, especially when you can see how they fall in love with this beautiful city. My favorite color is purple but you will notice that I love trying different colors on my hair all the time. I also love music, live shows, children, animals and teaching! But one of my favorite things in the world is food, and "Paisa" gastronomy ("Paisa" is what we call a person from Medellin!). That's why I always try to include food in my tours! It will be my pleasure to guide you through this city, learn from our history and discover our present and future with you. Bachelor's degree in Childhood Education from University of Antioquia. I am not a driver. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

With more than 35 years of history, the Plaza Minorista is the main market where restaurants and mom-and-pop shops buy all the products they need for their businesses. According to the Alexander Von Humboldt Biological Resources Research Institute in Colombia there are at least 400 native fruits or seeds, so when you arrive at the place you will see the variety of colors and smells that make up the fruits, vegetables and herbs typical of our country. Walking through the food market means seeing behind the scenes of each dish of Colombian gastronomy, rediscovering each ingredient and having the possibility of deciphering each flavor. Growing up in Medellín means knowing that in the Plaza Minorista you will find the freshest products, the best prices and the greatest variety of whatever you are looking for (food, sweets, herbs, flowers, and even second-hand clothes). Furthermore, having a mother who is a cook means knowing which are the best stands to stop at, try the fruits and ask for a discount!
We can meet up at the entrance. I recommend starting the tour at 8 a. m. -We start walking in the herb and flowers area, learn about their different uses, and talk with some sellers. You get a small kit with herbs for different uses. -We continue with the fruits area, talk with some sellers, and try various fruits (please note the fruits available might vary according to the season). -We walk through the market to see the meat area and secondhand clothes area. -We finish at the restaurant "Aquí Paró Lucho" to have lunch. * Itinerary can be customized upon request. Feel free to message me.
