I've always loved nature and showing people the amazing country I was fortunate enough to be born into. My family influenced greatly who I am, not only I became I biologist like my father and an outdoor enthusiast, but I learned how to travel with them. Since I can remember every year we would visit places while doing road trips, camping and making an effort to get the real sense of the places we visited. We would stay in rural accommodations, talk and share time with the locals and go further than the average traveler. In my professional career, while studying birds, amphibians and reptiles all over Colombia, I've become very knowledgeable about our natural environment, history, culture and places we have to offer. The same for my city Medellin, I'm a natural explorer and would love to share with you everything I know of this great place. I'm a Biologist from The University of Valle, Cali- Colombia and a Master of Science in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from The University of Tennessee. I've completed the courses and received the certification issued by SENA, Colombia's National Apprenticeship Service, to perform as a tour guide (RNT 80885).

Overview of your Medellin tour
Guatapé is known for its colorful buildings, charming cobblestone streets, and interesting zócalos (colorful molded art on the skirtings of every house). We will visit this beautiful town and pass through 'new Peñol, ' a nearby town that was rebuilt to make way for the construction of the hydroelectric dam. We will be able to appreciate the dam from the top of the rock of 'El Peñol' with its breathtaking views

Our guide was outstanding and gave us a wonderful experience in Guatape. We were delayed several hours getting through customs, but she was patient and waited and coordinated by whatsapp/text. We were able to adjust plans and had a great visit, including an impromptu visit to an excellent hot chocolate shop that our guide was able to recommend. We would definitely go with her again.

Fantastic tour! The trip to Penol and Guatape are well worth it. Loved the hike up the rock, the walk through the town, and the boat ride on the reservoir. Learned a lot about the area, but mostly it was wonderful to see a more rural (and charming) town outside of Medellin. This was my second tour with Laura--I chose her a second time because she is such a wonderful guide. Our next time in Medellin, I'd gladly choose another tour with Laura!

A lovely tour taking in the Rock of Guatape which was fairly quiet due to the early start and then colourful Guatape. Laura our guide spoke excellent English and was extremely knowledgeable about the locations and history surrounding them. We thoroughly enjoyed hearing and learning about the area and Colombian history from Laura. A thoroughly enjoyable tour and informative friendly guide.
Your Medellin tour itinerary
-Pick up at your hotel and head on the road to Medellin-Bogotá. -Stop for a typical road breakfast or snack. -We will continue to the famous Rock of Guatapé, a huge monolith of approximately 220 meters, and more than 740 steps to reach the top, approximately 2137 m. a. s. l. -After this which we will head for lunch in a traditional restaurant and stroll around the colorful town. - In the afternoon there will be time to organize a boat tour around the lake. -Return to Medellin and drop off at your hotel.
