I've always loved nature and showing people the amazing country I was fortunate enough to be born into. My family influenced greatly who I am, not only I became I biologist like my father and an outdoor enthusiast, but I learned how to travel with them. Since I can remember every year we would visit places while doing road trips, camping and making an effort to get the real sense of the places we visited. We would stay in rural accommodations, talk and share time with the locals and go further than the average traveler. In my professional career, while studying birds, amphibians and reptiles all over Colombia, I've become very knowledgeable about our natural environment, history, culture and places we have to offer. The same for my city Medellin, I'm a natural explorer and would love to share with you everything I know of this great place. I'm a Biologist from The University of Valle, Cali- Colombia and a Master of Science in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from The University of Tennessee. I've completed the courses and received the certification issued by SENA, Colombia's National Apprenticeship Service, to perform as a tour guide (RNT 80885).

We will visit the "new peñol", a small town built after the old town was flooded to give way to the hydroelectric dam of Guatapé. We will continue on our way to climb the rock of "El peñol", where at the top you will be able to appreciate the immensity of the dam and its surroundings and to experience one of the most characteristic scenic views in the whole of Colombia. After lunch, the beautiful town of Guatapé will be waiting, known for its colorful buildings, charming cobblestone streets and the interesting zócalos (colorful moulded art on the skirtings of every house). Late in the afternoon we will head to a natural reserve in a nearby town, owned and operated by a charming family, we we will have dinner and get ready to rest for the night. The next day we will wake up to explore nature, do some birding and enjoy a crystal clear river bath!
-Pick up at the hotel and head on the road to Medellin-Bogota. -Stop for a typical road breakfast. -Arrive to El Viejo Peñol, where we will visit a replica of the old town, flooded to give way to a large hydroelectric plant that supplies energy to part of the country. -We will continue to the famous Rock of Guatapé, a huge monolith of approximately 220 meters, and more than 740 steps to reach the top, approximately 2137 m. a. s. l. You will have the option to climb up for a 360° view of the dam or enjoy it from the base, either way is worth it! -After this which we will head for lunch in a traditional restaurant and spend the afternoon strolling around the colorful town. -We will head for the natural reserve located about 40 minutes from Guatapé, where we'll take our homemade dinner, relax with the noctural sound of nature, and if you are up to, take a nocturnal walk to explore night life. Next morning we can do birding and bathe in crystal clear river water, have lunch and return to Medellín.
