After completing high school in 2012, I decided to move to Siem Reap—the most famous travel destination in Cambodia—to pursue my passion for language and culture. I had an amazing 3 day private tour with Mak. We visited 12 temples around Angkor Wat, as well as a 7km mountain bike ride and a river boat tour of the floating market. Mak is very knowledgable about the history, religion and culture of the people that built the amazing temples at Angkor. If you want a great tour guide then I highly recommend you book a tour with Mak.
One of the best tours I've had anywhere in the world. Mak was responsive and helpful leading up to the tour and had great advice for the day. We started at 5am and returned to the hotel at 7:30 to have time for breakfast and let the crowds die down. He and the driver picked me up again at 2:30 to continue the tour. Mak knows so much about all of the sites and his love for Siem Reap shines through. He's also a great photographer so he will make sure your experience is captured. Highly recommend!
Mak is a wonderful guide. Brought us to the least crowded and best spots, considering we are visiting during peak season. He wove us through the large tour groups and took the best pictures. Answered all of our questions patiently and had excellent trivia to share. We are so happy to have had him guide us on our first day exploringthe temples.
Neth was extremely knowledgeable. He knew all the best photo spots and was happy to help us take some incredible photos. He was also an expert at timing the crowds, ensuring we avoided most of the queues. He took us off the typical tourist path, showing us hidden (and sometimes deserted) gems in the different temple complexes. We really like how we could set the pace of the tour and decide what to see and do. Our driver was also wonderful, ever ready with an icy bottle of water, cool towel and a smile.
Neth was exactly what we were after. Relaxed and very very knowledgeable with the history of his country. The day just flowed as we would liked not trying to rush but still staying ahead of the crowds. We would highly recommend Meth as your guide for the day. 5:00 AM, Stunning sunrise at Angkor Wat temple, the best place to watch sunrise in the world. 8:00 AM, Bayon, a temple with over 200 smiling faces which built by Cambodia's most beloved king, Jayavarman VII. 9:30 AM, Ta Prohm, a temple covered by a dense jungle of trees and roots, the site is most famous for its strangler fig trees whose roots seemingly drip down over the temple and its appearance in the Lara Croft, Tomb Raider movie. 11:00 AM, Wrap up the morning session and heading back to your hotel around 11:30 am before the heat. Option A (Breakfast Box): Please request a breakfast box from your hotel to bring along. This allows us to maximize our time in the cool morning air and finish the tour by 11:00 AM, avoiding the midday heat. Option B (Return to Hotel): If you prefer a seated breakfast at your hotel, we can explore Angkor Wat, return for your meal, and then head back out to visit Bayon and Ta Prohm. Please note that this option extends the tour into the warmer afternoon hours.
