Chum Reab Sour Ladies and Gentlemen! (Chun Reab Sour is a formal way to greet in Cambodian Culture. ) Welcome to Siem Reap, Cambodia! Kingdom of Wonder! Hi, My name is Sophy. I'm a very friendly, passionate, enthusiastic, personable and trustworthy tour guide. I was born in 1993, in a small village, about 10 miles from Siem Reap center. Then I moved to Siem Reap city when I was about three months old. I have two brothers, and I'm the second. Well, we still live in Siem Reap. By the time I finished High School in 2011, I got poverty scholarships to study at BBU, supported by the World Bank under the administration of Cambodia Government. In the meanwhile, I also worked as an English teacher at Smartkids and Future Bright International Schools, however by 2016, I have applied to become a local guide in Siem Reap under regulations of Ministry of Tourism. Now I'm a well-trained and licensed tour guide by Ministry of Tourism and I have been guiding travelers to Angkor complex and all over the Kingdom of Cambodia since 2016. Obviously, I am able to share with you the ancient and recent history, culture, politics, local lifestyles of Cambodia. I can bring you to the sites where you wish to see such as Angkor Wat, Kulen Mountain National Park, temples on the North Of Cambodia, the farmlands in the countryside, local markets and so on. I love to share my beautiful culture, amazing rich history, and all the beautiful places of Cambodia to the world. Moreover, I want to get to know and learn about different cultures, meeting people from all over the world. I look forward to sharing and providing you with an exciting and interesting trip to the temples of Angkor, and all surrounding areas in Cambodia. Please choose me to be your own personal tour guide to make unforgettable experiences in Siem Reap. Kind Regards Sophy • Many years experiences of guiding travelers as a professional English speaking tour guide • Bachelor Degree in English for Education • Licensed guide by Ministry of Tourism • Former teacher at private schools and organizations • I don’t guide at ACCB (Angkor Center for Conservation of Biodiversity), however I can bring you there • I don’t guide you at Artisans Angkor (Experts will bring you around) • I don’t usually drive, my licensed drivers will

The tour will bring you to capture wonderful sunrise with the reflection of Angkor Wat and then explore all the three main masterpiece temples including one of the Great Wonder of The World today and it's known as the biggest Hindu Temple On Earth, then capture the biggest city of the world in late 12th century and it's known as Angkor Thom. Well, we also have a glimpse to one of the main profound coexisting Buddhist-Hindu Temple Of King Jayavarman VII and One well-known In The Movie Tomb Raider with the amazing huge wine-trees hold the structures of temple. Importantly, we will find out together why the Golden Era of the Khmer Civilization from 9th to 13th century was the wealthiest? And why was the king choose to build city there? Apart from these, we also can discuss about the arts, architectures, history and cultures of Cambodian in old day and recently.

The tour was fantastic - exactly as advertised! Sophy did a fantastic job communicating with me via Whatsapp ahead of the tour (if you don't use it, download beforehand). She had a personal matter come up and was not able to make it, but (without me having to ask or do anything), she arranged for her husband Tom to step in and deliver as promised. The whole thing was so seamless. I'd highly recommend Sophy on account of her preparedness and integrity, and Tom for his tour guiding (he's also on Tours by Locals). You will be in good hands regardless of which one you wind up with.
Sophy was an excellent tour guide. She has deep knowledge of the history of Siem Reap and Angkor Wat and was easy to talk to. I enjoyed spending the day learning from her. It was also very appreciated to have a personal guide and not to have to maneuver with a large group, and to have the air conditioner car to get a little bit of a rest between sites. I also appreciated that Sophy knew how to stage the best pictures, avoid crowded areas and to find shady spots. I would highly recommend her as a guide to others and will definitely contact her again if I am lucky enough to return to Siem Reap.
I hired Sophy for a day-long tour of Angkor Wat. She arrived right on time and arranged comfortable transportation for the entire day. She had great knowledge of Angkor Wat and shared it with me throughout the tour, including several great photo locations. She also shared her people's and country's history and culture with me. It was incredible and inspiring. 5-stars are not enough. Sophy is a wonderful tour guide, and if you are going to Angkor Wat or Cambodia, I highly recommend you hire Sophy.
