Angkor was the capital city of the Khmer Empire. The city and empire from the begining of the 9th to the 15th centuries. The city houses the magnificent Angkor Wat, one of Cambodia's most popular tourist attractions. The word Angkor is derived from the Sanskrit nagara, meaning "city". One day tour bring you to the main temples in Angkor complex such as Angkor Thom (Bayon, Baphoun, Terrace of Elephants, Leper King terrace, Royal enclosure, Ta Prohm, Angkor Wat.
Your Siem Reap tour itinerary
A full day tour to Angkor. Angkor Wat is the world's largest sacred building and an architectural masterpiece. Built in the 12th century, represents Khmer civilization at its peak. You'll also visit the southern gate of Angkor Thom, which is flanked by a row of 54 stone figures on each side (gods to the left and demons to the right). At the Bayon temple (12th century), you'll admire its beautifully crafted central towers covered with over 200 faces, and then explore the Terrace of the Leper King and the Terrace of the Elephant. Lunch break and rest. After lunch you will explore Ta Prohm (tomb raider ) over grown by jungle.
