Hi! You are seeing this profile mainly because I love my country and I really enjoy tour-guiding. I am an Albanian, born and raised in Tirana, who has lived through the dramatic changes of the Albanian capital in the past 36 years. Although I have traveled extensively in my adult years, I am always thrilled to come back to my home-city. As the saying goes, "East or West, home is the best". If you choose to travel Albania with me, you will find out that I am passionate about the stories behind every street or corner, buildings and ruins, old neighborhoods or skyscrapers, traditional cuisine and fancy restaurants. I am fascinated by the ancient history of my country, enriched by its culture and traditions, challenged by the dynamics and changes, forever in love with its attractions and thrilled to be able to show you around. I have been working as a full time tour guide since 2008 and it seems like I am going to be doing this for many years to come. Kruja is one of the most visited places in Albania. It is a good place to get to know the history of Albania. In this tour we shall visit the Scanderbeg museum and the ethnographic museum, both located inside the Kruja castle. Then we shall walk in the medieval bazaar, where you can find interesting antiquaries and hand made souvenirs. Lunch in a local restaurant. After Kruja we drive to Lezha where we find archaeological ruins from the 2 Century BC and the Saint Nicolas cathedral ruins where Scanderbeg was buried. If there is time available we could have detour on the Albanian coast for an ice cream or coffee.
This was a fantastic tour, which was mainly due to the knowledge of our guide. His passion for Albania shines through and he answered questions with well thought out answers. His English is impeccable and we appreciated his driving skills. At the end of the day you truly have a greater understanding of Albania, the people, their history and their customs.
My tour to Kruja and Lezha was brilliant. Adrian is patient, friendly and speaks about Albania with great passion and depth of knowledge. He was always on hand to help me communicate with the locals when shopping on the bazar and made great recommendations. Overall a first-class trip.
Adrian is a terrific guide and all around great guy! My tour was three days in length, and I left all the planning up to him. I saw marvelous castles and ate unique authentic local food. I learned tons of history and roamed interesting streets around the country. The tour had a comfortable atmosphere like exploring with an old friend. Highly recommended! Favorite stops: Berat castle (with Onufri Iconographic Museum), Mrizi i Zanave restaurant
Meet at desired location. Drive to Kruja. Visit the Castle, Scanderbeg museum and the ethnographic museum. Walk in the bazaar and lunch in a local restaurant. After Kruja we drive to Lezha and visit the ruins of 2nd Century BC and grave of Scanderbeg in the ruins of saint Nicolas church.
