To paraphrase a well-known bumper sticker: I was not born in Houston, but I got here as soon as I could! Minus a few years here and there, I have lived in the Houston area since I was a pre-schooler. That's a mighty long time. During my years at Rice University, I fell in love with Houston's creativity, vitality, and diversity. Beyond its unique skyline, iconic stadiums, and legendary humidity, this city of has 2. 5 million people from all over the world who bring an enterprising spirit and a truly awesome mix of cultures and cuisines. My many jobs since the 1980s have included driving taxis and rideshares all around Greater Houston. I've actually covered much of the city by bicycle! I've also held some regular, full-time salaried positions as a high school Latin teacher, information technology instructor, and IT support technician. I'm new at the tour guide endeavor, but it's something I've thought about getting into for many years, for I love informing travellers about cool and unusual places in the city, as well as the story behind it. Not to mention telling them of interesting events that are taking place here! My tours will go beyond the usual tourist stops and explore the real Houston, where regular folks like to go for cultural and social experiences. My specialties include: + established art spaces in and around the Museum District + alternative arts, including our famous Art Cars + local craft breweries and our international food scene -Bachelor's degree in Classical Studies from Rice University -Experience driving in Houston since 1979 -Rideshare driver in Houston since 2019 -Contributed to the launch of Houston's Edition of the World Naked Bike Ride in 2011.

He was a chill host who gave us great recommendations, showed us the best taco spot, and made me excited to spend more time in the area. He was sensitive to how tired we were and I loved seeing all the...

Thank you, James! I enjoyed out time together too. Showing off my city, with or without the warts, gives me great delight. I hope that y'all had a splendid cruise.

I'm not sure whether to interpret 3 out of 5 as "good enough," "average," or "mediocre." The travelers seemed to enjoy the tour, and we had some enjoyable conversations, especially en route to and from. I was willing, and mostly able, to accommodate their special requests, additions, and improvisations; I could have done so better if Linda had communicated some of those...
David is absolutely amazing guide. Talkative, professional and friendly. He picked us on time from the IAH airport, sent all the details upfront, was a great company for 6 hours and drove us back. Due to his perfect plan we managed to see most of the city highlights, interesting districts, sports arenas and learned a lot about the city. Even traffic jam was fun with him -...

Thank you both for the opportunity to show off Space City, "warts and all." I enjoyed your (or y'all's, as we say in Texas) company as well.
