We absolutely loved doing the beading workshop. It felt very authentic, supports women & I would highly recommend this part of the tour. However, the good ends there. Despite booking 9 months ahead & confirming Rosebell would get the tickets to the elephant orphanage, she forgot so we were unable to visit. She only let us know 2 days before. This was very interesting but very confronting. The stench took a while to get used to but our two local community guides were very open and up front about life in the slums. The local school children sang songs for us which was lovely. I’m not sure if NGOs have had their funding pulled but they will want you to make a donation to their education fund. This was a lovely slow paced day. The lunch and garden setting was beautiful. We learnt a lot from Fiona Vernon, the owner, about Kenya’s tea production. After spending two weeks in a jeep it was a breath of fresh air to walk around the farm up in the hills. Gorgeous scenery.

Rosebell is a knowledgeable and friendly guide. We appreciated the Elephant Orphanage Center and the Giraffe Center. Her driver did a great job of getting us in and around the city. At the end of out tour, she took us to an excellent true Kenyan cooking restaurant the made delicious meals at a fair price.
