Hello :) I’m Nehal, I’ve been calling Kyoto home for almost nine years now. I completed both my undergraduate and master’s degrees here, which provided me with a deeper understanding of Japan’s history, culture, politics, and religion. Currently, I’m completing my Ph.D. in politics, which continues to fuel my passion for exploring Japan’s multifaceted identity. Throughout my academic journey, my love for Japan grew, and it inspired me to become a tour guide. For over three years, I’ve had the privilege of guiding visitors through the beautiful cities of Kyoto, Osaka, and Nara. Each tour allows me to share my knowledge of Japan’s traditions, history, and food, while also showing travelers some of the hidden gems that can only be appreciated through an outsider’s perspective. I’ve met so many amazing people from all over the world, and every tour is an opportunity to connect and share the wonders of Japan with others.
