Masai Mara National Reserve is one of the most popular tourism destinations in Kenya, Africa. The reserve is located in the Great Rift Valley in primarily open grassland. Wildlife tends to be most concentrated on the reserve's western escarpment. The Masai Mara is regarded as the jewel of Kenya's wildlife viewing areas. The annual wildebeest's migration alone involves over 1. 5 million animals arriving in July and departing in November. There have been some 95 species of mammals, amphibians and reptiles and over 400 birds species recorded on the reserve. Lake Nakuru provides the visitor with one of Kenya's best known images. Thousands of flamingo, Nakuru has more than just flamingos. This is a major National Park and an important sanctuary for Rhino. Both Black and White Rhino are found here. Day 1. Nairobi - Masai Mara. Pick up from your hotel in Nairobi at 0730 hrs. A safari briefing session with our tour consultant then drive to the Masai Mara Game Reserve. Afternoon game drive to see the sundowner as we hope to see lions, elephants, buffalo and zebra. Dinner and overnight at Mara Lodge or Sopa Lodge or Setrim Lodge or similar. Meal plan: breakfast, lunch, dinner. Day 2: Full day spent exploring the park in search of the big five. Dinner and overnight stay at Mara Lodge or Sopa Lodge or Setrim lodge or similar. Meal plan: breakfast, lunch and dinner. Day 3: Masai Mara - Nakuru. The last game run in the picturesque Masai Mara in the morning through the Rift Valley. Drive to Lake Nakuru, renowned for its spectacular flamingos. Overnight in Nakuru Lodge. Meal plan: breakfast, lunch and dinner. Day 4: Nakuru, morning spent game viewing. Then back to Nairobi in the afternoon. Meal plan: breakfast and lunch. Please remember the itinerary is flexible. I will happily customise the tour for you.
