Travel has been my passion and occupation for the last 30 years. After finishing school, I embarked on a trip to Europe and the travel bug bit me hard. On returning home, I gave up my university entry to study languages and instead joined the national airline. When it was time to be a mum, I opened my own travel agency, which I successfully operated for 20 years. I did many travel courses and lots of travel too! Now I am an authorised driver guide in the beautiful city of Sydney. For me travel is an experience to be savoured by all your senses. I want my visitors to get a strong sense of what it is like to live and play in this harbour city and so besides visiting the icons, we venture to magnificent harbour parks, where locals hang out so often you can get to engage with them. I love the blend of cultures and traditions in Sydney and in celebration of that, I offer a Jewish Heritage Tour of Sydney. Travel is an experience to be savoured so the fragrant memory of a special day lingers on.

Jewish Heritage Tour of Sydney gives you an insight into Jewish life in this vibrant city. Being Jewish myself and emigrating from South Africa, I was fascinated by the Jewish history of Sydney and although it is relatively young, it is fascinating. We begin in the historic Rocks area, home to the first Jewish settlers, where many of them began trading. We visit the Sydney Jewish Museum to understand what the first 100 years of life was like for Jews, as well as learning of their contribution to the war effort and what contemporary life here is like for this community. Our next stop is Central synagogue, the largest in the southern hemisphere. Our time at Jewish House and Our Big Kitchen gives you an insight as to how the community help the disadvantaged. Eat street or Hall street Bondi is next, where we visit the Kosher butcher and Jewish bookstore as well as the kosher and Israeli restaurants. En route back to the city, we travel through the affluent Eastern suburbs, home to many prominent Jewish families
Our Jewish Heritage Tour of Sydney gives you a window into Jewish life in this beautiful harbourside city. You will experience the Jewish Museum for a private guided tour in-to how Jewish life began here and the impact Jews have made in Australia as well as their input in the war effort. You will see the majestic Great Synagogue completed in 1883 and then visit modern Central Synagogue, the largest in the Southern hemisphere. We venture into the local Eastern Suburbs where contemporary Jewish families thrive and you get to see how they live and play. Next stop *Our Big Kitchen* a benevolent community kitchen start-ed by a rabbi and now helping diverse communities acrossSydney. No itinerary into Jewish Sydney would be complete without a stop in Bondi, a fascinating beachside suburb with a kosher butcher, baker and Jewish bookstore and Katzys kosher restaurant. This is a private tour meant to accommodate your needs and schedule. Please note the Synagogue may be closed due to circumstances beyond my contol
