To be a guide in Sri Lanka the guide must have a licence from Tourism Development Authority under the Ministry of Tourism. There are different catagories.
1. Site guide- these guides have a authority to do guiding in particular area only.
2. Chauffeur guides can take maximum of six people to any part of the country and they do guiding while driving.
3. National guide lecturer can take any number of people to any part of the country. report error
