Galle is 2 hrs driving from Colombo, so if you are planning to do this trip, make sure you have at least 8 hours in Colombo. We will drive via highway to Galle, visit old Galle Fort, have walk around colonial buildings and lunch in one of nice restaurant inside the fort. The city has a unique blend of architecture from the Portuguese, Dutch, and British colonial periods, all of which have left their mark on the city. After exploring Galle Fort, we will head to a nearby tea factory to witness the tea processing and learn about the history of Sri Lanka's tea industry. Sri Lanka is one of the largest tea exporters in the world and has a long history of producing high-quality tea. At the tea factory, visitors can taste and purchase different types of tea, including black, green, and white tea. If we have enough time, we can also visit the still fisher-mans and turtle hatchery. The still fisher-mans are a unique sight to see, with fishermen standing on wooden stilts in the water while they fish. Drive back.
