My name is Leon, I used to live in Germany for 12 years before coming back to Viet Nam and becoming a tour guide in 2004. Thanks to the 12 years living in Germany, I have excellent communication skills in English, German and speak good French. Leon was a great tour guide and very knowledgeable and passionate about the history of Hanoi. He was also wonderful when I needed to take a break due to the heat and humidity. He found me a cafe with AC and we talked about Hanoi while we enjoyed a cold drink. Leon was very personable and if I were to return to Vietnam, I wouldn't hesitate to book him again.

Leon was great. I looked through almost every tour option for Hanoi; I landed on Leon because of his interest in history. He did not disappoint. Leon was knowledgeable, engaging, and adaptable. Leon is a really excellent guide, with beautiful English (and a slight German accent!). He is engaging, fun and full of interesting information that he's keen to share. The transport that he organised was also perfect, and we had no trouble getting to all the places that we wanted to get to. We also loved his choice of lunch spot, which was a local restaurant in his neighbourhood well away from the tourist bustle. Leon was a great guide! He met us at the agreed time, and took us around the city to some of the most interesting sights. His knowledge about Viet Nam and Ha Noi was extensive, and it was a great way for us to start our visit to this great country. Would recommend!
We will meet each other in the lobby of your hotel. Starting the tour you will be brought back to the time when the West Lake was wild and free, this is the time when the Tran Quoc pagoda was built. Leaving Tran Quoc pagoda behind us, we will head to the next stage of history, the time when Vietnam has to fought against foreign feudal conquerors, the time when Quan Thanh temple was built. Leaving the big bronze statue in Quan Thanh temple behind us, we will visit the Ho Chi Minh complex, a must for all those who want to get to know the patriotic history of Vietnam. At the Temple of Literature (Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam) you will see that Vietnamese always were fond of studying. But before, that we will enjoy a fantastic traditional Vietnamese cuisine. At the Hoa Lo prison and the Vietnam historical museum you will see the "modern" history of Vietnam. At the end of the tour, you will (depending on your wish) enjoy a cyclo trip around Hoan Kiem Lake and finish up the day with a relaxing Spa massage.
