Halong Bay, "the bay of Descending dragon", is arguably Vietnam's most recognised landscape, boasting over 1, 600 limestone islands and islets. Located in northern Vietnam, the UNESCO-listed bay features a wide range of biodiversity, while the surrealistic scenery has been featured in plenty of films throughout the years. Needless to say, it's a must-visit for any first-time visitor to Vietnam. The best way to get to Ha Long Bay is by car, minibus or joining a day tour from Hanoi, located 170km away.
Pick-up at hotel and start the scenic, 3. 5 hour drive to Halong Bay. Enjoy the landscape of the Red River Delta country side and have a short break on the way. You arrive the Tuan Chau Habor, then embark the private daily cruise followed by a short cruise briefing. Start a dreamy cruise to stunning scenery with thousands of limestone mountains and have seafood lunch (they serve you with Vietnamese traditional dishes while cruising through the emerald water passing by the Dog Stone, the Burning Incense islet). Stop at Ba Hang fishing village for kayaking or sit in a bamboo boat rowed by locals. After the visiting of Fighting-Cock island and the most amazing cave, named Heavenly Palace (Thien Cung cave), we go back to wharf. Disembark and get on private car to Hanoi. Arrive in Hanoi.
