Hello! My name is Samuel, but you can call me Sam. I have two passions in life. Creating music and giving tours out of Skagway. I grew up in the Arizona desert, but in 2013, for a change of scenery, I took a summer job here in Skagway, Alaska. I had no idea how much I would LOVE it! It is my favorite place! I decided to stay and I now call Skagway home. Being such a small community (population 600 in the winter), it wasn't long before I knew everybody. I love the people who live here, I love the rich history of how this tiny town in the middle of nowhere came to be (hint: The last great gold rush of 1898). And, of course, I absolutely LOVE the vast natural beauty. It has the most impressive views I have ever seen and its VERY different than Phoenix, Arizona! When you come visit Skagway and take a drive with me up north into Canada, I know you will understand why I love Skagway. I am always eager and happy to show new people around. I have been a dedicated private tour guide since 2017. I am told people enjoy my tours because I am patient, curtious, laid back and have a good sense of humor. I believe your vacation should be relaxing and FUN! I consider it my job to put your mind at ease, show you the good stuff, tell you the interesting facts and maybe even try to make you laugh. The best part about my tours is that they are private and CUSTOM! We stop where and when you want to stop and I will cater to your specific interests and needs. Like hiking? We will pull over and go for a hike. Don't like to get out of the car? We will stay in and troll the roads for wildlife! I hope you will join me and give me the honor of sharing with you my favorite place! -Sam I have a chauffer's license. If you have a wheelchair, it has to be a compact foldable chair so that it can fit in the van. No wheelchair lift. Must be able to get in and out of vehicle.

Overview of your Skagway tour

Join me for an unforgettable experience learning and exploring as we venture through my historic gold rush town and up the mountains into Canada for the most scenic views in the world! We'll see glaciers, waterfalls, rivers, lakes & mountains. We'll also search for some of the many wild animals that call this home. Best of all, we'll stop at a Dog Mushing Camp where Alaskan Huskies train for the Iditarod. Admission is included, and yes, you can play with adorable Husky puppies. An additional charge lets you ride a cart pulled by energetic, playful Alaskan Huskies. Even if you don't ride, it's a lot of fun to watch the training in action. Our drive continues through BC and up into the Yukon, catching all of the best photo stops along the way. We'll pull into a tiny Yukon village for lunch and a chance to buy local souvenirs. After that, you'll see "the smallest desert in the world" & the incredibly breathtaking Emerald Lake before heading back to Skagway.

Sam was great. He was extremely prepared. Even had a telescope available so that we could see the mountain goats that he somehow spotted with his necked eye as he was driving. Amazing. He was willing to stay as long as we wanted or do things in any order we desired. All with an eye to getting us back to our ship on time. He was knowledgeable about what he was showing us and even mixed in some humor from time to time. And the van was quite comfortable. I would recommend highly.

We had an amazing time with Sam. He was knowledgeable, funny, and entertaining, as he took my wife and I from Skagway through BC and into some of the most beautful territory in the Yukon. We enjoyed the iteinerary he planned for us and many of his tips and tricks for getting the most out of our day. The sled dog farm and the village of Chilkoot were just some of the highlights. We could not have spent a better time on shore from our cruise than with Sam and his tour. We'll be coming back for part II someday!

Sam is a great guide!!! we visited a Iditarod musher location. We rode in a ranger (in neutral) pulled by dogs that are in training for the Iditarod. It was awesome!! Sam had a constant eye out for wildlife and spotted Cinnamon Black Bears (mother and 2 cubs) and we got to see them up close from the safety of the van. If you are in Skagway this is a must do tour and Sam is the guide you need.
