This was the best tour that we did during our week long cruise! Chris was a wonderful guide - super knowledgeable, friendly, kind, patient, and at times hilarious. ;) We were able to set our own plan and go at our own pace, and he offered options along the way and went with what we wanted to do. We saw SO MUCH and learned a lot because of his vast experience in the area. We were a group of 6, and the van was spacious for us and easy to get in and out. He had all sorts of things in the car to help, including a walking cane, water bottles, binoculars, you name it! We have a few who are hard of hearing and it was awesome that he had a mic and speakers in the middle and back of the van so we could all hear clearly. A fabulous day, and one we will talk about for a long time. Very highly recommend!

Overview of your Skagway tour
Explore the last frontier stopping where & when you want! Let me show you my beautiful, wholesome town & tell you about its not so wholesome history back in the last great gold rush of 1898. Driving north up the South Klondike Highway through BC & into the Yukon, we'll see the most awe-inspiring nature scenes. We'll have several photo stops & possibly also go on a short hike later! Further north, we'll even see "The Smallest Desert in the World"! Breathtaking lake views are everywhere, but at our furthest point, we'll see the infamous Emerald Lake, the most beautiful of all. Its colours will stun you! Here we can often spot some of the many wild animals who live here. Throughout the day, I can share many bits of history, fact, humor & perhaps tales I've picked up during my adventures in the quaint city of Skagway. Or you caould just take in the breathtaking beauty in silence or with your own music. It's up to you, it's your day & I want to make it the most memorable experience you'll have in Alaska!

Chris was great. He was accommodating to the requests of our large group and ensure that we stayed on schedule to make it back to the ship on time. It was a fun time and very open ended. I didn't have to plan ahead a bunch as Chris was pretty open to suggestions throughout the trip.
The guide saw a mountain goat, stopped the van, brought a telescope out and expertly focused it on the goat. It was incredible for us. When we saw an eagle, he stopped and gave us binoculars. Fantastic!

Chris was an amazing tour guide! He was incredibly knowledgeable about Skagway and led an engaging tour for the entire family. We were a multigenerational group of 11 people ranging from 14-79 years old, and everyone enjoyed the day. A few of us had visited Skagway before, but we just walked to the Main Street last time. This tour showed the city and surrounding area in a totally different way. We stopped at so many gorgeous viewpoints and made our way into Canada. We wanted to see the puppies, and he kindly built in a stop there too. Throughout the whole tour, we were just ahead of the big motorcoach tours, so we were able to view before areas got crowded (and we saw more). The van was spacious and comfortable for our large group, and we appreciated the binoculars at every seat. Chris was right on time to pick us up at the dock, and we were back at the ship with plenty of time to spare. Highly recommend Chris and the Private Escapes company.

·After picking you up from an agreed spot, such as the pier if you arrive by ship, we'd head to Skagway Town where I'll show you around. ·Further along, we'll pass by the following sites: ·Denver Glacier Overlook ·Pitchfork Falls ·Bridal Veil Falls ·Moore Creek Bridge ·Welcome to Alaska Sign ·Border Crossing into British Columbia ·International Falls ·Tormented Valley Overlook ·Time permitting & in case you'd like to, we could also pass by the Yukon Suspension Bridge. ·Next, we'd enjoy a panoramic view of Tutshi Lake before reaching Tagish Lake. ·We'd then see the Welcome to The Yukon Sign & pass by the Venus Silver Mine. ·Later, we'd reach the Bove Island Overlook. ·Afterwards, we'd arrive to the tiny Yukon village of Carcross, Yukon for a lunch break. ·Later, we'd see the Carcross Desert before finally reaching Emerald Lake. ·If we had some extra time, we could also check out the Tutshi Lake Boat ramp before returning. ·After a full day, we'd head back to Skagway.
