Explore Salt Lake City your way

At ToursByLocals, we believe that how you explore is just as important as where you go. That’s why every Salt Lake City tour is private, flexible, and built around you: Move at your own pace, skip the crowds, make connections and follow your curiosity. Find local guides offering private tours in Salt Lake City for every interest, including:

Layover tours: On a 3–5 hour stop at SLC, meet your guide for Temple Square, viewpoints at the Utah State Capitol, and a short walk to Ensign Peak for skyline photos; with 5+ hours, add the Great Salt Lake Marina for a salty shoreline stop. If you prefer museums, swap in the Natural History Museum of Utah for a fast, focused visit.

Nature and Wildlife tours: Hike an easy stretch of the Bonneville Shoreline Trail or stroll the Silver Lake boardwalk in Big Cottonwood Canyon, watching for moose and mule deer. Bird at Farmington Bay or visit Antelope Island to see bison herds and sweeping lake views timed for golden light.

History tours: Explore This Is the Place Heritage Park and nearby Fort Douglas for pioneer and military stories, then see railway-era architecture at the Rio Grande Depot. Add time at the Church History Museum to view early settlement artefacts and art.

UTA TRAX links the airport and downtown, and the central grid is walkable. Canyons, the lake, and Antelope Island aren’t well served by transit, so consider tours with private transportation or ask your guide for a chauffeured option.

This isn’t a one-size-fits-all itinerary, you can tailor your private tour to match your interests, pace and personality with a local who knows Salt Lake City inside and out.
