Steve owns a luxury car service, and drives a black GMC Yukon XL, which is licensed and insured. It also means that Steve has completed all requirements for Defensive Driving, a Medical Exam, Chauffeur's License Exams. Steve continues to develop biographies and background stories that add to the rich and colorful cultures within our international community. Steve is licensed with the State of Florida. Overview of your Fort Lauderdale tour
We start with a drive along the Atlantic coast, with multi-million-dollar mansions! We'll pass by Trump's Mar-A-Lago, and homes of several celebrities. Flagler is credited with establishing tourism and agriculture as the foundation of Florida's economy. Hear about Whitehall, the house he built for his wife. It has been proclaimed "more wonderful than any palace in Europe". Today, the house is known as the Flagler Museum. You can choose the optional audio tour and explore the estate and stroll the beautiful grounds. You can even step inside Flagler's personal railroad car! Next, I'll guide you through the famous Breakers Hotel, originally the site of Flagler's Palm Beach Inn. After two major fires, the hotel was rebuilt with fireproof concrete and opened in 1926, so guests could watch the breakers of the ocean. I would suggest a visit to the oceanfront Seafood Bar, located inside the hotel, for cocktails or lunch. With the remaining time, stroll along the designer shops of Worth Avenue.
Your Fort Lauderdale tour itinerary
We will not visit inside any homes, or disturb any of the occupants. Our first stop will be the Flagler Museum. Then, I will host your walking tour of the Breakers Hotel. We can enjoy a lunch break here, or choose from many others nearby. Then you will see the "Everglades Club", which was owned by Paris Singer, son of Isaac Singer, inventor of the sewing machine. The club includes 60 acres, but membership is exclusive. In fact, members will say it doesn't exist! The remaining time is for shopping on Worth Avenue, where new designers compete with the most famous designer shops in the world. You'll hear about 8 of them.
