My name is Anthony. I was raised here in Kent and am fortunate enough to live within the heart of historic Canterbury. After spending many years exploring the county's beautiful country lanes and coastline, I have come to know Kent's most stunning locations and want to share the very best of these with you. After all, this is the 'Garden of England' - a county of white cliffs and gentle, green rolling hills; country lanes and quaint cottages; imposing castles and delightful country houses; village greens and country pubs; medieval churches and awe-inspiring cathedrals. I have also got an excellent knowledge of History. I have three degrees in this subject including a doctorate from Cambridge University. It was here that I fulfilled a life-long love of this subject but also the recognition that I wanted to spend my time doing something inspirational, meaningful and fulfilling. For me, being a guide for small private groups is an incredible privilege and a source for all these things. I love showing guests special places that are completely off the beaten track and which satisfy our innate curiosity and desire for authenticity. I love bringing to life periods of Britain’s most significant and impactful history. But unquestionably the most satisfying reward of all is providing a unique experience and a day that will live in your memory for many years to come. Here is what other guests have said in reviews for Kent and Country Tours:- "We had the privilege of experiencing Kent in the most enjoyable way, thanks to the expertise of our charming tour guide, Anthony. Given his local upbringing and unparalleled education on the subject matter, we felt like we had won the tour guide lottery. This, in addition to being the perfect English gentleman, and his peaceful and personable demeanour, left us feeling like we had the most quintessential Kent experience." (Jennifer E, USA) "As a constant traveller who regularly books tours, I can easily say that this was the best tour I have ever taken! Anthony made me fall in love with Kent. (Dwain, USA); "This was a fantastic experience. Anthony absolutely made this day great" (Dr Joshua G, Australia)
