Wiboon was a very good tour guide. We were a group of six adults and we booked the tour as a cruise shore excursion. The ride from the port to Bangkok was about 2 hours each way and it would have been better if Wiboon would have sat with us in the back of the van and shared interesting information (as opposed to sitting up front with the driver). This was a two-day tour where we stayed overnight in a hotel before returning to the ship the next day. He took us to the main Bangkok tourist sites and on Day 1, this consisted mostly of seeing various Buddhas in temples and at the Grand Palace. The entry fees for the sites had to be paid by us and it would have been good to get a reminder about this before the tour. Also, each temple and the Palace require you to remove your shoes so make sure you have socks on for the tours. This also would have been good to know before the tour. We did see a nice flower and vegetable market and had a good lunch. Later in the afternoon, we did a long tail boat ride. It was interesting but very sad to see how polluted the river is with sewage going directly from the homes and businesses into the river. We stayed in Bangkok that night at the Pathumwan Princess Hotel. This we chose on our own and it was great - a five star hotel centrally located and only $150 USD and included breakfast and welcome drinks for two persons. For Day 2, we pivoted and said no more temples and buddhas. Wiboon obliged and we went to see the National Boat Museum, which was very interesting. We then went to a nice mall where we had foot massages, a nice lunch and there was very nice boutique shopping at good prices. We finished with an interesting dance show at a theater (this was included as part of our grand palace tour from the day before). Day 2 was impromptu but really excellent. Despite some negatives, we liked the tour and recommend it as Wiboon was a very good tour guide.
