Let me introduce myself. My name is Susana and I've been guiding in Madrid, Toledo, Segovia, and Avila for over twenty years now as a full-time activity, and. . . . here I am, still on stage. SEGOVIA Let's visit the city of Spain where Isabel, was crowned Queen of Castile. That was a turning point in the history of not just Spain. The castle which was one of the favorite residences of her family and the beautiful maze of streets of this wonderful sample of our history. The symbol of the city is the best-kept aqueduct of the Roman Empire. Nearly 2000 years old. Did you know that it brought water to the city till 100 years ago? AVILA After the Reconquest of Ávila, the repopulation tasks fell in the hands of the King's son-in-law, Raymond of Burgundy. It was important to create a good defense against possible Muslim attacks, and on the other hand, city walls were a social instrument for setting up the limits of the city and its residents. In Avila, one of the best-preserved medieval city walls can be admired. If not afraid of big steps and heighths, we can walk along the battlement and enjoy the great views from there.
Doing a day trip with Susana is a treat! She orchestrates the transportation, tour, and meals. She has the right balance of talking about the sites but giving you time to rest. Her knowledge of Segovia is incredible. The history is fascinating to hear from an expert. If you have a day available on your itinerary, I would consider this tour.

Susana was our guide in Avila and Segovia and was extremely knowledgeable about the culture and history of both. The places she chose to take us were perfect, enabling our understanding and appreciation of the two towns. In Avila we visited Santo Tomás, a Dominican Monastery which was extraordinary both historically and architecturally. Part of our tour was a stop for lunch at a small restaurant with a wonderful view and delicious local dishes in Segovia. Suzana is an exceptional guide who met our needs.
