Let me introduce myself. My name is Susana and I've been guiding in Madrid, Toledo, Segovia, and Avila for over twenty years now as a full-time activity, and. . . . here I am, still on stage. EL ESCORIAL After the Middle Ages ended in Spain, the new Absolute Monarchy was in need of new buildings that would be representative of this new era. In the year 1563 this project of Philip II started to see the light under the wonderful mountains of Guadarrama, in the north of the Madrid region. 20 years later the biggest Catholic Monastery is finished and up to our days it is still used as the burial pantheon of the Spanish Royal family. SEGOVIA Let's visit together the city of Spain where Isabel, was crowned Queen of the Kingdom of Castile. That was a turning point in the history of not just Spain. The castle which was one of the favourite residences of her family and the beautiful maze of streets of this wonderful sample of our historyThe symbol of the city is the best kept aqueduct of the Roman Empire. Nearly 2000 years old. Did you know that it brought water to the city till 100 years ago?
Your Segovia tour itinerary
A fully licensed driver and I will meet you with the van where agreed and we'll head to El Escorial for the Monastery tour, afterwards we'll travel together to Segovia, where after a local lunch experience, we we'll do the walking tour including the Castle -Alcazar. After our day out, meet the driver and go back to Madrid.
