Hello!! My name is Mayte , I was born and raised in Madrid , as my parents are locals , I am a "cat". I studied Tourism in the University of Madrid because I love history, art , traveling and meeting people. We will head the north of Madrid to explore the most spectacular sited city in Spain "Segovia". The old town is set on a high rocky spur surrounded by 2 rivers. From afar it looks like a ship, the medieval Alcazar on its sharp crag forming the prow, the pinnacles of the Gothic cathedral rising up like a mast and the aqueduct trailing behind like a rudder with a roman aqueduct . Afterwards we will visit the Escorial Palace- Monastery , the dream of grandeur from the King Felipe II in the 16 th century.
This was an excellent day trip from Madrid. We thoroughly enjoyed both destinations and Mayte was a lovely and knowledgeable guide. If you enjoy history and art, then this is a perfect tour. The aqueducts are impressive in person and we had a lovely lunch in Segovia overlooking the square.
Fun, informative, and beautiful historical sites. Both Mayte and our driver Ben did a great job. A fast paced day filled with memorable views and relevant information from Mayte. Highly recommend the tour and our guide.
I really enjoyed the combination of touring Segovia and El Escorial. Mayte arranged a driver and gave it a very efficient and knowledgeable tour of both locations. It not did not even feel rushed and there are some truly special things to see at both places. You do need a private car or I think it’s just too rushed otherwise. I highly recommend both the guide and the specific tour

Mayte and our driver Oscar were terrific. They picked us up at the hotel, Mayte provided very concise historic notes and commentary throughout the tour, and her knowledge of the sites was excellent and passionate. They knew where to drop us off and pick us up, in order to minimize our walking as we are seniors with back and knee issues. We would definitely tour with her again. My husband cannot stop talking about the library at El Escorial, and the Segovia Aqueduct was also a must see. Thank You!
This was our third day with Mayte and again we had an amazing day in the beautiful city of Segovia and the Royal Palace of Escorial. Mayte brought the history alive and her depth of knowledge on the history and culture of these places was amazing.
We will visit Segovia set high on a rocky spur surrounded by two rivers . The highlights of Segovia are : medieval castle -Alcazar ( visit the interior) -the last gothic cathedral built up in Spain ( photo outside) - the roman aqueduct ( photo) Then we will have free time for lunch and head to the 15 hundreds wonder. . . the Escorial Palace ( visit the interior)
