I Love NATURE! I am a keen birder. I love to share my knowledge and experience of birds and Nepal wildlife that I know. I have led many bird/ornithological tours and treks in Nepal, my great passion, that I love to work. I have been doing this for well over 2 decades. Nature is amazing! I believe that BIRDS are one of the greatest gift of nature, that has equal share as we human and should be protected for times to come! I can not imagine this world without birds. Overview of your Kathmandu tour
Phulchauki Mountain Forest is a unique birding site, located to the south of Kathmandu city. I am a student of Zoology and environment and have been leading this tour for 2 decades. I would love to show you all I know! We will be driving by jeep to start birding from the top (2760 m). On a good day, you could easily record well over 60 to 100 species of birds. At the same time, you can also enjoy the panoramic Himalayan view with Mount Everest on the clear day. I would love to show you my favourite birds, like Chestnut-bellied Tesia, Fulvous-breasted, black-throated Parrotbill, White-collared Blackbird, Bar-throated Siva, Hoary-throated Barwing and Himalayan Cutia etc. You could also see and hear other diverse species, such as Chestnut-crowned Laughingthrush, White-browed/Rufous winged Fulvetta, White-browed Shrike Babbler, Lesser Cuckoo, Darjeeling Woodpecker, Mountain Hawk and Black Eagles, Crested Serpent Eagle, Brown Wood Owl and more.
Your Kathmandu tour itinerary
06.30 am: Meet in hotel or chosen meeting location and start driving. (Summer is 5am and winter season is 6. 30am) 7. 10 am: Arrive Godawari and continue driving. 7. 50 am: Arrive Phulchauki summit and start birding down the hill. 1. 00 pm: Drive back to Kathmandu. 2. 00 pm-3 pm: Arrive in Kathmandu and transfer to your hotel or drop off spot. Please note that the itinerary and time can vary if needed. In summer, we can start even earlier to catch the early birds on time!
