Full-Day hiking tour of the Atlas Mountains

This was a great experience and we’re very grateful to Mustapha for showing us around. Getting out of Marrakech and into the Atlas Mountains was such a contrast to the city and something we’re really glad we did. Mustapha’s knowledge of the area made the day much more interesting. The hike was excellent and I’d describe it as moderate in difficulty – not too hard, but definitely not just a casual stroll. There were some uphill sections and some uneven ground on the way down, so a reasonable level of fitness and good footwear are recommended. The lunch at the end was fantastic and definitely one of the highlights of our time in Morocco.

Wonderful tour. Drove from Marrakech to Imlil which took about 1.5 hours with a stop at an all female Argan oil cooperative along the way. Then two hours of hiking through several small Berber villages perched above Imlil with full, beautiful views of Mt. Toubkal at one point. In one of the villages we stopped in a rug cooperative. On the descent a stop at Imlil waterfall before having a late lunch on an outdoor patio in one of Imlil’s restaurants. Then a nice drive back to Marrakech. Perfect tour for a day visit to the High Atlas!

Mustapha was delightful and it was the perfect day away from the hustle of Marrakech.

Mustapha took great care of us (parents and four kids). I was nervous because we had never used Tours by Locals before but they were very professional, timely and clean. We felt safe the entire time and appreciated the consideration and insight provided. It was a great way to get into the mountains. Thank you.
