Essaouira Day Trip

A long day BUT very worth it / Yes a long drive to and from Mogodor but well worth it / Rachid was excellent Engaging and native of the port city / articulate in explaining the historical perspective of its importance / it was like having the mayor give you a tour (that in itself a compliment) / he knew the souks and side streets and just about everyone we passed Since it was Ramadan he could not join us for lunch but recommended a wonderful seaview restaurant (fresh fish) on the water A vibrant port city / but much more laid back then the hustle of Marrakesh / well worth it

Rachid is a great guide and I had a beautiful and education tour to Essaouira! The city was beautiful and we had an amazing lunch of fresh seafood in town! I also enjoyed the free time at the beach and watching the surfers. Great tour for individuals, families, or groups. A few tips, the ride out is about 2.5-3 hours so be prepared and also bring sun screen.

Great trip to Essaouira with Rachid. He is an Essaouira native but has lived all over and speaks many languages so is the perfect guide for everyone. We enjoyed learning about this windy and beautiful seaport, its history and famous inhabitants. The seafood lunch was also out of this world. Don’t miss out on seeing Essaouira!

Pickup was prompt and transportation was comfortable and clean. The only odd thing about the transport was that the seats in the back of the van faced each other, like on a train. The tour of Essaouira itself was great, including the wonderful lunch of fresh seafood from the market and grilled on the spot. My only suggestion would be to give a little background and history on the drive down as it is a long drive.
