Veracruz, Music, Art and Flavour

If you like to meet local people, to know about the local culture this is best tour. We will have the opportunity to take lessons of the local music and dances in Jamapa, a village near to Veracruz, where you could meet a lot of "jarochos" ( locals nickname) known because they are kind and enjoyful. There is an unique museum, because is "alive". This museum has an unique collection of prehispanic pieces of the "REMOJADAS" culture, that is very unknown. We will receive lessons of local music like the Danzón , that is a dance that has its origins in Cuba, but Veracruz adopted it, or huapangos, another type of music that is played with arps and jaranas. And also we will visit the suspension bridge in Jamapa.

We will meet in your hotel or the adress of your preference, and then we are going to Jamapa . In the local Museum of Jamapa, we will be guide by the developer of the Museum who will show you the collection of archaeological pieces of the region, and he will show you the different areas of the museum. Then we will have an exhibition of Danzón and Huapango, with local dancers and musicians that will teach you how to dance. If weather allows us we will visit the River that is very close to the Museum and the suspension bridge. Also we will receive a lesson to make our own palm fan, to refresh us. I like this Museum because the people always receive you with the smile on their faces like if you were part of the community . You can feel that this is your home. Finally we will decide if we want to take meal in Jamapa or going to Playa de Vacas to taste local cuisine. The specialty in Veracruz is seafood.
