I've been living in Veracruz for 35 years and I love it! Veracruz is known as the main entrance of the mexican culture and its History. Veracruz is also rich in nature, is one of the states of México that has a lot of types of ecosystems, and I would like to have the opportunity to share my love of Veracruz and its heritages with you because knowing is loving, and maybe if you let me be your guide you will love Veracruz and you will want to come back. I've worked as a tour guide for 15 years, not only in the city of Veracruz, also in its sorroundings. All my tours can be customized depending of your needs and expectations. Tourist Guide Certified by Mexican Goverment, training as Gay Friendly Tourist Guide, also I have done a lot of courses of History of México and Veracruz, and I studied Tourism at the University. I am not a driver. I can arrange for a separate car and driver when the tour doesn't includes tranportation. I am not an adventure guide, so in the adventure tours, I will be with you and another certified person will be guiding you.

This tour is called the Route of the Slave, because we will visit Yanga, named like the african slave that gets the freedom of his people, that where brought to América to be slaves under the spanish domination. So if you want to know about the africanmexican this is the tour that you should do.
Marcela was a wonderful guide. I would not otherwise have been able to explore the area so thoroughly. The tour was long, and by that I mean a great value. Throughout the day Marcela was able to respond to my own interests and curiosity, and I left with a greater appreciation for and understanding of this rural area of Veracruz. I would highly recommend if you are interested in the history of this area.
I really enjoyed the tour at Yanga and learning its history. At my request, Marcela shortened the tour so I could return to Veracruz mid-afternoon. I wish I had more time to explore Veracruz with Marcela. She is an excellent and thoughtful guide.
Marcela is so kind, thoughtful and very knowledgeable not only about Veracruz, but the history of the Yanga people and their influence today. We truly enjoyed visiting the old plantations and the city center of Yanga.
Fantastic tour! From the beginning Marcela was curious to understand my goals and showed a profound and broad knowledge of the history of Mexico. She is resourceful in that she knows who to ask and where to find information. The tour was extremely informative and I came away with so much information it will take me days to process. What a experience! I never did a tour guide before and i really didn't know what to expect but this was a amazing experience Ms. Marcela, she was on time professional and knowledgeable of what my tour was about also the language barrier she made it easy to understand, i cant say enough good things concerning my tour i was not rush and my tour went over the time aloted, i rate this tour a five but honestly this tour went above and behind what was expected.
We will meet at your hotel, and then we are going to Yanga, at first called "San Lorenzo de los negros". A place that was the first free village in América. In this place you can smell the african influence in their culture. Here we will meet our local guide, who will explain the local history and the local traditions, and also he will show us the Haciendas that are near to Yanga, like the "Hacienda San José del Corral", and the "Hacienda Nuestra Señora de la Concepción" and ex hacienda de Toxpan. This three Haciendas were some of the most important Haciendas in this area on the XVI century, when Spain was the most powerfull Empire in the world. We will have time to lunch in Córdoba a city near to Yanga and then we will be back to Veracruz .
