Hello, I am Princess! I am originally from Ghana and have been living in Nagasaki for more than four years. I first came to Japan for studies. Along the way, I started guiding visitors around Nagasaki, and what began as something I enjoyed doing gradually became something I genuinely love. I have now been guiding for about three years and have welcomed more than 50 visitors on English-language tours. I was not born in Nagasaki, so I came here with the same curiosity that many visitors have when they first arrive. Over the years, though, the city has gradually become home. I have explored its neighbourhoods, tried plenty of its food, attended local events, found my favourite views, and discovered the little things that make everyday life here interesting. Being a foreigner who has lived here for several years also gives me a different perspective. I remember having questions about things that seemed completely obvious to everyone around me, so I understand what it feels like to be curious about a new culture while trying to find your way around. At the same time, I have had enough time here to develop my own relationship with Nagasaki and see it as more than just a tourist destination. I enjoy sharing the well-known parts of Nagasaki City, but I also like the quieter moments in between: walking through older streets, stopping when something catches our attention, trying local food, taking photos, finding a good viewpoint, and simply having a conversation while exploring. I do not believe there is one perfect Nagasaki tour for everyone. Some visitors want to understand the city’s history in depth. Others are more interested in food, photography, culture or everyday life. Some have limited time and want to see as much as possible, while others would rather take things slowly. I like finding out what matters to you and shaping the day around that. For me, a good tour is not about trying to prove how much I know. It’s about having a good conversation, sharing something interesting, answering your questions honestly, and making the city feel a little more familiar by the time we finish. So tell me what brought you to Nagasaki, what you are curious about, and what kind of day you would enjoy. We can take it from there. I am looking forward to meeting you and exploring Nagasaki together.
